Dear Mum & Dad
We've had a calm channel crossing and the fog has persisted all day. Had meal in Luxembourg at 11.00 in the evening [28th]. Saw first snow in Germany. Arrived at 4.30pm, four and half hours late. 29th. Fitted with skis. First lesson in the afternoon. 30th. Skiing all day, mass of bruises. That's all I have to write. Wish you & everybody back home a Happy New Year.
