Web Site Design
The design for this web site is based on my own notebooks, which usually had an image and some writing on each page. I've aimed to design an interface that was simple to set up and easy to navigate. The visual and navigational framework for the web site uses a calendar model, with 30 image thumbnails representing days of the month. This allows for easy and quick navigation of 360 pages a year. Individual pages can be printed onto a sheet of A4 paper for editing and other uses outside the computer. The layout of the page stays simple with the top of the page for a photograph and the bottom for text. This design also allows for other media to be incorporated into the pages, such as sounds, QuickTime and Flash movies, and some of my older material such as Shockwave movies and QuickTime VR.
This web site design gives me an online notebook that incorporates my photographs, writings, and other media into a hyper-linked environment that I can easily manage.
