Camden
Arts Centre, NW3
A warm winter day, a leafless tree, a grassless bank, a Victorian
art gallery is modernised. The contemporary architecture uses
old materials in modern ways, thin columns of steel, large sheets
of glass. Inside this building paintings hang, sculptures stand,
and clay is played with. A computer sits in the corner of the
cafe, waiting.
This spacious and light environment is gripped by a structure
that hangs onto another century.
