Worcester
Park, Surrey (6385)
It's nearly 9pm and the train is about to arrive.
Danny has driven us to Worcester Park station, the next station
up from Stoneleigh.
On the journey back to London I was thinking and talking with
Jude about the experience of looking at our family photographs;
memories being prompted, fascinating pieces of new information
coming out through conversation, and the way we all get involved
by talking through these old photographs. But the family albums,
the folders and envelopes of photographs and paraphernalia are
eventually put away until the next time we visit, which may be
months away. The conversation we've had, the connections we've
made, and the information we've gathered fade away. As the train
draws into Waterloo station I talk with Jude about using this
'moblogging/blogging/' environment as a place to have a 'family
album', for these old photographs. These pictures from a lifetime
seem to take on much more significance now, and it would be fascinating
to use this (TA) space to construct a new form of family album.
I'll start one this week and see if we can make something of it.
