Meeting the Nomads at the Royal Festival Hall, London (6416)
It's Thursday afternoon and I meet up with the 'nomads' at Royal
Festival Hall. Stephen has brought his iBook along and we crowd
around the screen to look at the pictures from our trip to Canary
Wharf last week. We've all managed to produce some 'reflective'
images. I've brought along a book on 'Dickensian' walks and we
decide to go for a wander around Holborn next Thursday. We talk
a little about setting up web sites. I've printed up some sheets
of paper that emulate setting up a TA moblog and take people through
the process. In years to come we may well have WiFi in these situations
and we will be able to set up a 'moblog' from anywhere. Interestingly
the Royal Festival Hall has just set up a WiFi network. It took
me a while to find someone who actually knew about this, eventually
someone from the 'bookings' desk went of to find an 'IT person',
who confirmed that WiFi was working at the Royal Festival Hall,
and it was free for the next few months. Now I just need a PowerBook
and hello nomadic learning.
