Hampstead No.1 Pond, Hampstead Heath (2454) February 2006 | Another
Hampstead Heath rises high above London and has always been a healthy retreat and place of recovery. In Tudor times City merchants and lawyers would journey in stagecoaches away from the grime and crime of the City. Later, in the 18th century, the place became a spa after a doctor recommended the medicinal quality of the water. And by the middle of the 19th century the North London Railway was bringing thousands of pleasure seekers to The Heath.
Over the last few weeks I'd had a cold and cough that caused conjunctivitis and in turn bronchitis, this and the antibiotics left me feeling weak and pretty fed up. Over the weekend I began to feel better and popped down to Camden Market on Sunday afternoon. But it's this walk and cycle on The Heath that really invigorates me and gives me some motivation and inspiration to set me up for the week ahead.

Melissa hi and thanks. Hampstead Heath is like a big (700 acre), wild back garden for North London - a place to breath a little more freely.

I really enjoyed your diary for February and the trip down memory
lane. Did you ever keep in touch with Mick F? Never made it to
Mod judging by the hair and scooter. Quite forgotten about the
'Putney' on the flyscreen of the old lambo. Glad you're feeling
better and taking tranquil shots.

Hi twig, I got sidetracked in February and started trying to find
old pics, so these images ended up in 'February' on the web site.
I lost touch with Mick not long after we finished school - I think
it was a common interest in messing around with engines and trying
to make 'fast' machine that kept our friendship going. After school
I was into getting 'out and about' on the scooter.

a 'water' picture this day, the clouds and reflection were an added
bonus to the views.
